Mode of action

1.Mechanism:
* Absorbed primarily by roots and leaves, it disrupts the Photosystem II (PSII) electron transport chain in chloroplasts,
blocking the Hill reaction. This leads to the accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and eventual plant death due to
energy (ATP and NADPH) depletion.
* Most effective against weeds during germination and early growth stages.
2.Target Weeds:
* Controls annual grasses (e.g., crabgrass, foxtail) and broadleaf weeds (e.g., pigweed, lambsquarters, smartweed).

Use

1.Suitable Crops:
* Primarily used in soybeans, carrots, corn, wheat, and celery (subject to local regulatory approvals).
2. Application Timing:
* Pre-emergence: Apply after crop sowing but before weed emergence to form a soil barrier.
* Early post-emergence: For some crops, directed spray at weed seedling stage (2–4 leaves), avoiding crop foliage.
3. Recommended Dosage:
* Typical rate: 0.5–1.5 kg/ha (250–750 g a.i./ha), adjusted based on soil type and weed pressure (higher rates for clay soils,
lower for sandy soils).
4. Application Method:
* Dilute in water and spray uniformly for thorough soil coverage.
* Avoid application before heavy rain or under windy conditions to prevent runoff/drift.
5. Precautions:
* Phytotoxic to certain crops (e.g., cucurbits, brassicas); observe crop rotation restrictions.
* Reduced efficacy or crop injury may occur under drought or high temperatures (>30°C).
