Product Description
Mepiquat Chloride PIX is a systemic plant growth retarder that inhibits the biosynthesis of gibberellin. Pix has the following physical and chemical properties: The pure product is a white crystalline solid, odorless, while the industrial product generally ranges from light yellow to light brown. It has a melting point of approximately 285 - 286 °C (with decomposition). It is highly soluble in water (with a solubility of over 1600 g/L) and can be miscible with polar organic solvents such as methanol and ethanol, but is almost insoluble in non - polar solvents like benzene and ether. Its aqueous solution is neutral. Chemically stable, it does not decompose easily at room temperature and shows good resistance to light and heat. It remains stable under alkaline conditions, though it may undergo slow hydrolysis in strongly acidic environments. It is hygroscopic, absorbing moisture when exposed to humid air, and can maintain good chemical activity in both solid and solution states, which is convenient for storage and use.
Application: 1.Control plant growth: Inhibit cell elongation, shorten internodes, and prevent lodging in crops like cotton, wheat, and corn. 2.Regulate nutrient allocation: Promote the transformation from vegetative to reproductive growth, increasing the nutrient supply to fruits and flowers. 3.Enhance stress resistance: Improve the adaptability of crops to adverse conditions such as drought, low temperature, and salinity - alkalinity. 4.Improve product quality: Increase the fiber length and strength of cotton, and make peanut pods plump to improve crop quality. 5.Shape flowers: Control the height and shape of flowers to enhance their ornamental value.
